Our counseling team provides information and advice to Russian-speaking LGBTIQ* refugees and migrants from countries such as Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, etc.
on various topics, including asylum and residence law, social law, and psychosocial issues.
We are looking for interns with German and Russian language skills for a period of 2-3 months, starting immediately and on an ongoing basis.
The internship is intended for students who need to complete a mandatory internship as part of their curriculum.
Your Responsibilities:
- Language mediation for Russian-speaking LGBTIQ* refugees and migrants, especially on asylum and residence law issues
- Participation in case discussions and team meetings
- Supporting the counseling team with administrative and organizational tasks
- Researching relevant information and possibly written translations
Your Profile:
- Enrollment in a degree program in social sciences, law, or a related field; the internship must be a mandatory part of your studies
- Very good German and Russian language skills (spoken and written); knowledge of other languages such as Ukrainian, Georgian, or English is an advantage
- Experience in language mediation or counseling, or an interest in gaining experience in these areas
- Intercultural competencies and basic knowledge of LGBTIQ* topics
- Reliability, teamwork skills, and ability to work independently
